Metro Connect is a free Wi-Fi network designed to improve your digital experience at Metro stations. It allows you to:
- Browse the internet
- Make Wi-Fi calls
- Send messages
- Access real-time Metro service updates through the Pop App.
Where is it available?
A pilot has launched at Central Station in Newcastle city centre. This station often has limited 4G and 5G coverage.
How to connect
The best way to access Metro Connect is through the Pop App.

The app will guide you through the process.
Location access is required, this is used to determine which station you are closest to and provide the correct connectivity prompts.
Look for the Metro Connect pop-up in the app when you are in or near Central Station Metro:
